Significance of autograph (valuable):
This Cleveland Indian team won 111 games to end a Yankee run of five straight World Series championships, establishing at the time the American League record, with only the 1906 Cubs winning more in a season (116). And yes, since this set was produced, there have been some great AL regular season teams, such as the Mariners (2001—116 wins) and the Yankees (1998—114 wins). But this team was special, including Larry Doby (HOF), the first African American to play in the American League. An exceptional signed… Doby to this day doesn’t receive as much notoriety as he should. He was a heck of a player.
